Check the engine, gearbox and flywheel

• Confirm the exact engine and transmission combination, including any conversions or changes to the existing flywheel.
• Review the friction material, intended use and stated capacity for the particular kit rather than the whole brand range.
• Check the supplied flywheel, bearings, release components and other fitting parts against the installer's requirements.

Discuss the proposed package and its operating characteristics with the fitting workshop. A competition-focused clutch should not be selected solely because its headline rating is higher.
