Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series DIY Front Axle Relocation Kit
The Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series DIY Front Axle Relocation Kit is expertly designed to enhance tyre clearance while striving to maintain a lower Centre of Gravity (CG) for improved control and handling of the 1991 – 1997 Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series.
For enthusiastic fabricators eager to upgrade their Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series into a superior off-road vehicle, the 80 Series DIY Front Axle Relocation Kit is a great choice!
This kit has been developed to optimise tyre clearance while aiming to keep a lower Centre of Gravity (CG) for enhanced control and handling of the 80-Series Toyota Land Cruiser. Modifying your Toyota Landcruiser 80 Series for off-road use, especially with larger-diameter tyres, involves balancing various factors.
Adding large, robust mud or all-terrain tyres to your 80-Series might increase your centre of gravity, but you don't need to excessively lift your vehicle to gain tyre clearance. By stretching out your 80-Series Toyota, you can achieve better on-road handling and maintain a low centre of gravity over rough terrain. The 80-Series DIY Front Axle Relocation Kit enables you to extend the front axle of the 80-Series by 25mm, enhancing tyre clearance by 33mm when used with Adjustable Radius Arm Caster Bushings.
80 Series DIY Front Axle Relocation Kit
The DIY Front Axle Relocation Kit includes a metal relocation stencil guide plate and four structural plates for welding, which will extend the 80-Series front axle forward by 25mm for improved clearance. Typically, a 35″ tyre is 4 inches taller than the standard 31″ tyre, meaning it's 2 inches taller from the centre to the outer edge.
Many 80-series owners opt for 3″ lift springs for better suspension support. Combine this with the 25mm front axle advancement and an additional 8mm forward movement using Radius Arm Bushings, totalling 33mm forward, this significantly enhances lock-to-lock tyre clearance against the inner-fender areas. For instance, the RLLC80-Series, equipped with 37×13.50R17 Cooper Tyres, a 3-inch lift, and a 1-inch body lift, can steer lock-to-lock without the tyres touching the inner fender wells, even with 13.50-wide tyres.
The 80-Series DIY Front Axle Relocation Kit includes five plates, one as a template for re-drilling your Radius Arm Frame Bracket mounting location, and four plates to be welded to reinforce the relocation mount.
Included in the Kit
